Swimwear's dirty secret is that most of it is made from virgin plastic, and most of it eventually ends up in the sea. We started Sandbar to do the opposite. These are made from REPREVE recycled polyester, which is 100% recycled ocean bound plastic bottles, traceable to source through FibrePrint verification. On top of this every order funds the removal of 1kg of ocean plastic. We're not pretending it solves the whole problem. We are saying it's a better starting point than the alternative

The embroidered range sits at the top of what we make. Each motif is stitched directly into the fabric rather than printed onto it, which gives the design real depth and texture and a finish prints cannot reach. It is slower to produce and harder to get right, which is exactly why most brands do not bother. Built on the same 100% recycled ocean bound plastic bottles. With every Father & Son set purchased, Sandbar® funds the removal of 2kg of plastic and trash from our oceans. That is 1kg for each pair, dad's and son's.
Each pair is made using 6 to 8 recycled plastic bottles, spun into Unifi's REPREVE® fabric.
