Our recycled nylon is the softer side of Sandbar. 92% REPREVE recycled nylon spun with 8% spandex for stretch and recovery, with the nylon regenerated from 100% pre-consumer waste, the fabric scraps and yarn offcuts that would otherwise be discarded by mills during production. Nylon gives swimwear something polyester cannot, a finer, more silken hand feel and a deeper, richer print finish, which is why the premium mills use it for their best pieces. Spandex content sits at 8% for proper four-way stretch and shape retention through chlorine, salt and sun. Lighter, softer, and more flattering against the skin, made without making the planet pay for it.

Sustainability

Swimwear's dirty secret is that most of it is made from virgin plastic, and most of it eventually ends up in the sea. We started Sandbar to do the opposite. Every Sandbar piece is made from REPREVE recycled fibre, traceable to source through certified verification, and every order funds the removal of 1kg of ocean plastic through our Seven Clean Seas partnership. We're not pretending it solves the whole problem. We are saying it's a better starting point than the alternative
